Agent 2 GA, MCP Beta, and Starter Web at $39 from 20 Oct: What to Turn On Now, and What to Leave Off Until You Understand AI Credits

Bubble pushed Agent 2 to GA, rolled out Bubble MCP in beta, introduced AI credits, and scheduled a Starter Web price shift to $39 on 20 October 2026, all at once. Here is my practical roadmap for solo founders building MVPs without burning through early runway.

Bubble shipped four changes at once. Bubble AI Agent 2 is now General Availability (GA). The Bubble Model Context Protocol (MCP) server entered public beta. In-editor agent actions now consume app-scoped AI credits. And Starter Web pricing moves to $39/month starting 20 October 2026. Same topic: Bubble MCP server: Three Meanings.

If you are building an MVP on Bubble without an extensive technical background, that is a lot to process in one go. When your goal is to test a product idea, collect first customer feedback, and conserve runway, you need to know which switches to flip now and which to leave alone. Here is how I would handle each one. Same topic: SK AX AI Boot Camp.

The Core Shift: Four Key Updates

I am working from the official Bubble announcements and the October 2026 community update.

  1. Agent 2 in GA: The built-in AI agent is now available to all users, across both web and native mobile projects.
  2. AI credits: Iterating with the in-editor AI Agent consumes app-level AI credits. Manual work in the visual builder and initial app generation/planning sessions cost nothing.
  3. Bubble MCP in beta: Experienced builders can link external AI environments (Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT) to their Bubble apps.
  4. Starter Web pricing: From 20 October 2026, web-only Starter costs $39/month on monthly billing or $32/month on an annual commitment. You can lock in an annual rate of $29/month if you buy before 20 October 2026.

Bubble AI Agent 2: Navigating Variable Credit Consumption

If you got used to free beta assistants, this is where you can drain your balance without noticing. Each app gets a monthly allowance that resets on the 1st of every calendar month:

  • Free: 500 credits
  • Starter: 1,000 credits
  • Growth: 2,000 credits
  • Team: 4,000 credits
  • Agency: 1,000 credits

Apps created on or before 6 October 2026 get double their allowance through 31 October 2026. On 1 November 2026 they go back to the baseline numbers. The catch: credit cost per prompt is variable, not fixed per message. One big prompt that changes workflows across several pages can eat an allowance fast.

Two more things. Apps on the legacy responsive engine may see weaker agent performance, and Safari live preview support is still in progress.

Bubble MCP in Beta: Capabilities and Boundaries

Bubble MCP opens up external development workflows. As a solo founder, I would treat it as an experimental layer for now:

  • On Bubble's side, MCP interactions do not consume Bubble AI credits, and Bubble sets no request limits on Free plans.
  • Your third-party LLM provider's subscription fees and rate limits still apply.
  • The current beta cannot view application logs, merge branches, or trigger production deployments. Same topic: Bubble MCP on Free With.

If you are non-technical and still validating your first value proposition, configure things manually in the visual editor. Handing structural edits to an external agent is riskier: one permission oversight can change production workflows.

Clarifying the Starter Web Price Shift Before 20 October

The static tables in the pricing manual may still show the old rates ($32 monthly / $29 annual). Bubble's documentation says it plainly: if the manual tables differ from the live pricing page, the pricing page wins.

On 20 October 2026, monthly Starter Web moves to $39/month ($32/month annual). Existing plans and trials switch at their next renewal date. If you are bootstrapping and sure you will build on Bubble for the next 12 months, an annual plan bought at $29/month before 20 October keeps you on the lower rate.

Action Checklist for This Week

  1. Protect your editor budget: Use Agent 2 for discrete UI tasks only. Do layout adjustments by hand in the visual editor, where they cost no credits.
  2. Review data permissions: Community members report that agent data and log access switches may be on by default in existing apps. Check your app settings and make sure your privacy setup is what you expect.
  3. Deploy manually: Bubble MCP cannot deploy or merge branches, so keep strict control of versioning in the main Bubble editor.
  4. Decide on the lock-in: If your roadmap needs Starter Web, check whether an annual plan before 20 October 2026 fits your budget.
