Doubled AI Credits End 31 Oct, Starter Web Changes 20 Oct: a Billing Calendar, Not a Reason to Turn the Agent On

Bubble's two near-term October dates, the Starter Web price change on 20 Oct and the doubled AI credits cutoff on 31 Oct, are a billing calendar for solo apps. They don't mean you have to push Agent 2 or MCP into production.

On 6 October 2026, Bubble moved Agent 2 to general availability, launched Bubble MCP in beta, and switched AI agent workflows to per-app AI credits. The same rollout carries two dates: 20 October and 31 October. If you're building a quick MVP or vibe coding without an engineering background, it's easy to read this as an order to turn everything on right now. I read it differently. For a solo builder, these are billing and credit checkpoints. Nothing here requires rushing new agents into live production. Same topic: Bubble Community on Price Transparency.

20 October: The Starter Web Billing Checkpoint

This one is about plan pricing. On 20 October 2026, the web-only Starter plan moves to $39/month on monthly billing or $32/month on annual billing. If you're already a Starter Web subscriber or on an active Starter trial, you'll only see the new price at your next renewal date.

If you're an independent founder validating an early MVP, you want your overhead fixed before you collect early user feedback or pitch investors. Buy annual Starter Web before 20 October and you lock in $29/month for a full year. If you know the MVP will stay on Bubble for the foreseeable future, that's the practical move to make before the increase lands.

31 October: Doubled AI Credits End for Eligible Apps

The second date covers promotional usage allowances. Through 31 October 2026, Bubble apps that existed on or before 6 October 2026 get double their plan's standard monthly included credit allowance. From 1 November 2026, standard allowances apply to everyone.

The multiplier comes with strict exceptions:

  • Apps created after 6 October 2026, new accounts, and trial accounts don't get doubled credits.
  • Changing plans during October forfeits the bonus entirely. The switch immediately resets the app to the new plan's standard monthly allowance, without the multiplier.
  • The core visual editor and initial app generation don't consume credits. Credits are only drawn when you iterate with the Bubble AI Agent. Same topic: Bubble MCP on Free With.

Included monthly credits refresh on the 1st of each month. Extra credit packs you buy stay valid for six months, but the doubled allotment on included credits is gone after 31 October.

Why the Promo Is Not a Reason to Run Agent 2 or MCP in Production

Doubled credits look like an excuse to wire new AI features straight into production workflows. I think that's an architectural mistake, for three concrete reasons:

  1. Bubble MCP does not use Bubble AI credits. MCP connects external coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex to your Bubble app, and your third-party AI provider bills you directly. Doubled credits inside Bubble don't make external MCP requests cheaper or free.
  2. MCP is still in beta. It's aimed at experienced builders experimenting with external agents. It isn't battle-tested yet for non-technical creators building production-critical user journeys.
  3. Agent 2 belongs in development, not in untested live deploys. Agent 2 is generally available across web and mobile apps, but I'd keep rapid idea scaffolding inside the development branch. The official announcement also says Safari browser support for Agent preview is still in progress. That's an operational risk if you rely on it blindly. Same topic: Agent 2 GA, MCP Beta,.

Actionable Takeaways for Solo MVP Builders

To keep the MVP lean and avoid surprise costs this month, I treat October as an operational checklist:

  • Before 20 October: Review your plan. If your app is live and you plan to stay on Bubble for the next 12 months, consider locking in annual Starter Web at $29/month before it shifts to $39/month (monthly) or $32/month (annual).
  • Through 31 October: If your app qualified on 6 October, test your concepts and agent workflows in the development branch while the doubled credits last. Don't change plans mid-month, or you'll forfeit the allowance. And don't enable MCP in production just because you heard Bubble added AI credits.
